Traditional terracotta jewellery, handmade by women shaping the modern era
Founded in 2016, Shika Creations brings ancient terracotta craft into the present, while empowering hundreds of women along the way.

From a teenage dream to terracotta movement
Shika Creations was founded by Smrithi at the age of 16. Inspired by traditional carvings and the beauty of handmade detail, she began shaping her first terracotta pieces.
Friends became customers. Small exhibitions became opportunities. Balancing college classes and customer orders, Smrithi Sivakumar slowly built a brand rooted in tradition but designed for today.

Recognition, including the GSEA award, strengthened that journey. But the real milestone was training 450+ women from local communities and building a 15+ member women-led team creating jewellery for over 5000+ customers worldwide.
Because you were never meant to blend in
Terracotta jewellery is beautiful. But it’s also meaningful.
When you choose Shika, you wear a story of tradition, resilience, and women shaping their own future. It’s handmade for the women who:
-
Go bold without the weight
Statement terracotta jewellery designs that look powerful, but feel light enough to wear all day.
-
Choose slow fashion, over mass production
Every piece is shaped and painted by hand. No factory finishes or identical copies.
-
Grow together
Behind every piece are skilled women building independence through craft.
-
Wear with meaning
Inspired by temple architecture and heritage motifs, each design keeps tradition alive in a modern way.

"What began as a small dream in my tiny hands has grown into a space where many women can stand on their own feet. Shika is never just about jewellery. It is about creating independence and a future shaped by women themselves."

How is the terracotta jewellery made?
1. Natural clay selection
We start with high-quality natural clay, chosen for its strength and smooth texture.
2. Hand-moulding
Inspired by traditional motifs and contemporary styles, each design is shaped by hand carefully.
3. Drying and firing
The pieces are air-dried and then kiln-fired to harden the clay, giving it strength while keeping it lightweight.
4. Hand painting
Every curve and groove is painted by hand, layer by layer.
5. Packaging and delivery
Finally, the jewellery is finished, sealed, and delivered safely to your hands.
